Emily's March Spire List
This month we decluttered. We got real about political media. We kickstarted our day with a morning routine. And of course we got seriously inspired by stories like this. Both in and out of Spire, it was easy to feel grateful this month. So as you can imagine, making the March Spire List was just as effortless. Without further adieu, here is my March Spire List.
After my friend got her planner back in January, I had my eye on The Desire Map. Let me put it this way: I have bought four copies in the past two weeks to give as gifts. It's the vision book to your soul that you don't even know you are craving. Completely eye opening, fully engaging, Danielle LaPorte has this amazing talent for getting you to hone in on what you actually want out of life. And trust me, it may surprise you.
2. Trader Joe's Speculoos Crunchy Cookie Butter
This stuff is sent straight from the gods. But seriously. Trader Joe's is wonderful regardless but their cookie butter is literally the greatest thing since sliced bread–speaking of which, it tastes great on toast. I am not proud of how many jars of this I go through in a month, but when it comes to late night work sessions, there's nothing better than this.
From their Instagram to the rockstar that is their founder, Lorna Jane is quickly becoming one of my favorite online destinations and activewear brands. So if you're looking to get your sweat on this Spring, definitely check out their website. I'm a big fan of their Catalina Excel Hooded Shirt, which is giving me all sorts of Elle Woods vibes.
4. She's the First
This is an organization that has been near and dear to my heart for a long time. After visiting their office to catch up with a friend of mine, it only reignited my love for their mission to sponsor girls' education in the developing world so this generation of girls can be the first in their families to graduate. The best part is 100% of donations go directly to sponsoring a girl's education. To learn how you can support this amazing cause, check out their website.
This isn't exactly a big find, but after getting a pair for my birthday, I'm loving that I can plug in and symbolically turn off the outside world. It's great for powering through emails or doing paperwork for tax season. My hot pink ones are not sold anymore, but I loved these rose gold Beats.
With nearly two weeks of Spring Break, I've been bopping around a bit between New York, Boston, New Jersey, and Florida. My go to travel shoe has become Converses
that I snagged from my sister's closet. Pro tip: if you have smallish feet, you may be able to fit into kids' sizes which are less expensive.
7. Draper James
Plain and simple, Reese Witherspoon is my favorite. I love her energy, her movies (I'm looking at you, Legally Blonde), and her entrepreneurial gusto. Her Southern-inspired apparel brand, Draper James, is filled with bright colors, Southern charm, and products made in the US. I'm a big fan of this iPhone case because I can hear my mom saying that exact phrase, making me think of home, though it is a little north of the Mason Dixon line. The best part? The sale section is currently up to 60% off so they can make room for their new season's collection!
Spire's Creative Director, Hannah, has been my gateway to unlocking all the haircare secrets, specifically the whole concept of not shampooing your hair daily so your natural oils can work their magic. I have to say, she was totally right. This Klorane Dry Shampoo with oat milk has been my go to for those second mornings when my hair is looking a little dirty. Bonus: it's only $10 and fits in your purse.
Speaking of actresses expanding their empires, Jessica Alba's Honest Company, definitely falls under that category. With a mission of making homes safe from harmful chemicals plus their unending charitable efforts, there's a lot to be inspired by while benefiting from the healthy product alternatives. With Spring Break this month and warming temperatures, I haven't been leaving the house without their Honest Sunscreen on my face. No crazy chemicals in my pores? That's something I can sign up for.
10. One Tree Hill
I mean, who doesn't need some Brooke Davis in their lives? Earlier this month, I went to a One Tree Hill-themed SoulCycle ride led by one of my favorite instructors, Bevin, who was also on the show. While I had watched the show before, after the ride, March quickly became the month of watching OTH in my free time. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly suggest putting your Netflix account to good use. (Productivity Warning: this show gets VERY easy to binge watch.)
