Renewal Reading, Volume 13

Woohoooo, happy weekend! I don't know about you but the more we move through August, the more I'm striving to use every second of my time outside to practice major gratitude. Soak all the summer goodness up while we can, right? I'll be heading up to Boston in a few hours for what I hope will be a weekend of enjoying all those New England summer vibes (and hopefully some ice cream). Where will you be on this promising weekend?

Whether we are one or one hundred miles away, let's stay connected through our Instagram–I'm really getting into our Instagram Story and I'm happy you are liking it so far!!–as well as some of our reading materials. Check out the links below for some of the stories that I found especially transformative this week.

From around the web:

Emily Weiss is girlboss goals.

Entrepreneur's September cover feature is Glossier's Founder and CEO, Emily Weiss. Let's put it this way, if you read one article from a September issue this month, THIS is the one to read. (Plus, what can I say, she has a great name. ;] )

When times get tough, this is where I turn.

This week has been a reminder of the presence of darkness and the uplifting power of light. We all have our ways of responding to events in our lives and in the world that serve us best. For me, it's pausing to turn inward first. This app helps me do that, even at my desk.

All I can say is, Hallie Parker and Annie James forever.

Man Repeller is a one-of-a-kind gem of the web to begin with, but then they wrote a piece on the fashion of The Parent Trap. Now my eyes are perpetually glued to their site. In all seriousness, this article really inspired me to dress like two 11 year olds and I'm fine with it.

How to ethically and authentically grow your Instagram presence.

I could rave about Cathy and her blog, Poor Little It Girl, for days. She covers affordable fashion, particularly for petites, and does so in a way that feels like your talking to your girlfriend at brunch. And as a representative of the South of 5'' Tall Club, that is something I can really get behind. She has a great series, called How To Be A Better Blogger, and this week, she covered what it takes to grow an Instagram following in a way that is both genuine and ethical. Whether you're a blogger, aspiring influencer, entrepreneur, or a girl who wants to amplify her voice, this post is a must.

From Spire & Co:

If you've ever felt ~too~ attached to something or someone, this is the words your soul needs.

This article by Bess has been one of our most read articles of 2017. If you've ever felt obsessive about anything, this post could be a step in a healthy direction.

Create the ultimate girlboss workspace.

I'm obsessive with my work environment (as said while I'm surrounded by notebooks and Chipotle). These pieces for this month's Spire Spaces are all under $100 and are meant to help you create a space that inspires you to pursue your calling.
